to do fix , engine off , disconnect circlip that connects actuator arm from turbo to electronic actuator, with a pair of pliers or grips move arm forwards and backwards quite hard and fast until it frees itself, should only take 20 secs.. spray arm with lots of wd40. reconnect arm to actuator ,insert circlip to hold.

We have a Mk4 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi. Recently it was left untouched for just over a week. When I went to start it, it wouldn't - immobiliser active apparently. A bit of googling suggested a low battery *could* cause this - and we've known the car to have issues with the battery draining for no apparent reason. So I tried jump leads. No joy

With the Mk3 it was pretty easy to reset, having set it off by accident a couple of times opening the bonnet with alarm still set (usally 6am when was checking screen wash etc lol).
